‘Dolce Passione’ the black-skinned watermelon, without seeds, all made in Italy looks to the foreign market, first Germany and France and then Northern European countries

Rimini (15 May 2024) – Surfaces in triple digit, production growing, presence in the market for over five months, the foreign bet. These are the objectives of the Dolce Passione Consortium that at Macfrut presented the challenges of the coming months with the launch of the new marketing campaign of the product started these days.

Dolce Passione, the fully Italian, black rind seedless watermelon was presented at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. The consortium has expanded with the entry of the Cico-Mazzoni Group

Berlin (8 February 2024) – Following its debut in 2023, the Dolce Passione Consortium has presented the “Dolce Passione” watermelon to international buyers at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. The President of the Consortium, Roberto Castello (Ortofrutta Castello), together with Carmine Alfano (Alma Seges), Stefano Rossi (Lorenzini Naturamica), Matteo Mazzoni (Gruppo Cico-Mazzoni) and coordinated by Luciano Trentini, the consortium’s director, presented the watermelon this afternoon (8 February) in the Italy Events Hall.

The marketing campaign for the ‘Dolce Passione’ watermelon continues successfully: the black rind watermelon that is entirely ‘made in Italy’. The goal for 2024: to double the production area

Veneto/Emilia-Romagna (23 October 2023) – As scheduled, the second harvest of the ‘Dolce Passione’ watermelons will end in just a few days. This year, the late production of the watermelon benefited from a favourable summer/autumn season characterized by the absence of rain and summery temperatures that continue to encourage the consumption of watermelon over other types of fruit. September and October experienced summer temperatures, even rising above 30° C, meaning that consumers preferred this “classic summer fruit” to the most classic of autumn fruits, the traditional chestnuts.

Dolce Passione, the fully ‘made in Italy’ watermelon with a black rind: 200 hectares, 10,000 tonnes of product, a good marketing campaign. The supply chain, from field to fork, was presented at the Lorenzini Naturamica farm in Sermide (Mn)

Sermide – MN (18 July 2023) – “Two hundred hectares distributed across the entire Italian peninsula with a yield of around 10,000 tonnes amounts to a decidedly satisfactory commercial campaign”. This was the snapshot given by the Director of the Consortium, Luciano Trentini of ‘Dolce Passione’, the black rind watermelon entirely ‘made in Italy’ when speaking at the event hosted at the Lorenzini Naturamica farm in Sermide.

Dolce Passione: the “Made in Italy” black rind watermelon Consortium is born

Rimini (5 May 2023) – It made its debut only a year ago at Macfrut, and then appeared at the International Fruit and Vegetable Fair in a new guise. In fact, the Dolce Passione Consortium was born for the production and promotion of a black rind watermelon created as part of a project entirely “Made in Italy”. This fruit is the result of over 7 years of study and research that have, after over 30 years, brought back a type of product that is highly appreciated by consumers.

‘’Dolce Passione’, the fully Italian black rind watermelon is popular both on the market and in the kitchen

Lido degli Estensi (14 July 2022) – If watermelon is the quintessential summer product, then this year’s hot weather is ideally suited to the consumption of ‘Dolce Passione’. This black rind watermelon is the only exclusively ‘made in Italy’ product and it has brought this variety back to the market after 30 years.

Dolce Passione: the watermelon that makes the difference. After 30 years, the black rind watermelon is back on the Italian market. Previewed at Macfrut

Rimini (6 May 2022) – After over 30 years, the black rind watermelon is back on the Italian market. Yet this is no step back into the past but a real taste evolution, the result of research conducted over 7 years.
